Job Goal:

Provide enthusiastic, innovative leadership for a high-performing department team that provides training, technical assistance, and support for current and aspiring area campus and  district administrators. This position will lead special projects, develop, coordinate, and implement professional learning, products, and services that align with Region 4’s Education Service Center’s mission and strategies.

 

Qualifications:

Education

Master’s degree

 

Certification/Licensure

  1. Texas teaching certificate or related certificate/licensure
  2. Principal or Mid-Management certificate
  3.  Critical evidence of experience in developing and presenting professional  learning in campus and district administration topics, including  the associated online tools
  4. Texas Teacher Evaluation and Support System (T-TESS) Certified
  5. Texas Principal Evaluation and Support System (T-PESS) Certified

 Experience

  1. Three years of experience in campus administration as assistant principal and/or principal
  2. Five years of teaching experience in a traditional district and or charter school

Special Knowledge and Skills

  1. Broad knowledge of school leadership and administration
  2. Exemplary written and oral communication skills
  3. Superior presentation skills, including use of presentation multi-media and varied technology platforms
  4.  Demonstrated experience in coordinating and facilitating professional learning series, convenings, and conferences
  5. Strong interpersonal, collaboration and facilitation skills
  6. Ability to inspire and work well with campus and district leaders from all levels throughout the state
  7. Ability to lead projects and project teams, plan, develop and execute all project goals.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience as campus principal
  2. Experience in district administration
  3. Experience in developing and presenting professional  learning, including the associated online tools
  4. Training in Texas Teacher Evaluation and Support System (T-TESS) and Advanced Educational Leadership (AEL)
  5. Experience with Texas Principal Evaluation and Support System (T-PESS)

 Major Responsibilities:

  1. Provide leadership in the planning, implementation and support of the statewide evaluation system project, serving as a resource for area districts through the legal and local policy and procedures development process.
  2. Collaborate with department team to develop, plan, implement and present effective professional learning , products, and services in the areas of campus and district leadership to improve student outcomes.
  3. Develop, present, and facilitate effective professional learning sessions, series, convenings, and conferences. .
  4. Remain abreast of state and federal rules, regulations, and policies related to school administration and assist with district and campus communications and posting of requirements according to code.
  5. Understand key characteristics of the federal and state accountability systems.
  6. Effectively communicate important aspects of the federal and state accountability systems to campus and district leaders, including analysis of performance reports.
  7. Provide support as a key member of the regional Turnaround Team and demonstrates proactive communication among area districts/charters, other regional service centers and the Texas Education Agency regarding school improvement initiatives.
  8. Provide expert technical assistance to area districts related to compliance with state and federal laws, state policy and regulations, and adherence to ethical and legal standards that impact campus and district leadership.
  9. Engage in professional development to maintain knowledge and skills in area(s) of responsibility.
  10. Provide technical assistance and services as specified by any applicable federal grant that supports this position.
