Job Goal:

Provide a stable server and network infrastructure for the efficient, timely, and cost-effective support and delivery of services to Region 4 ESC and its clients. Evaluate current infrastructure services and provide recommendations for improvements.

 

Qualifications:

 

Education

Associate’s degree in Information Technology or a minimum of 5 years of experience in the technology field

 

Experience

  1. Four years of recent hands-on experience in supporting a Microsoft Windows environment in a domain structure with a minimum of 250 nodes
  2. Two years of experience in troubleshooting and maintaining server and desktop platform hardware from HP and Dell
  3. One year of recent experience troubleshooting LAN/WAN connectivity issues, including using WireShark and SolarWinds
  4. One year of experience in troubleshooting and maintaining storage platform hardware.
  5. One year of experience in supporting three-tier and two-tier applications.
  6. One year of recent hands-on experience in directly procuring, configuring, and deploying servers, storage devices, network devices, security systems, and hypervisor technologies.
  7. Two years of recent experience managing AWS and other Cloud technologies’ infrastructure and computing resources.  
  8. Proficiency in Windows Server 2016 and 2019, testing proficiency or complementary certification
  9. Proficient knowledge of TCP/IP stack and troubleshooting
  10. Experience maintaining and troubleshooting switched networks, routers, and firewalls

Preferred Qualifications/Experience:

  1. Bachelor's degree in the technology field.
  2. Expertise in supporting Palo Alto and Cisco IOS deployments
  3. Expert in supporting VOIP platforms.
  4. AWS Certification(s)
  5. Expertise with Open Source systems such as Linux, Red Hat, Apache, and MySQL
  6. Expertise in supporting data center environmental systems such as UPS, cooling, fire suppression, etc.

Major Responsibilities:

  1. Serve as a liaison, interfacing with external clients in furthering Region 4 ESC and DCNS business and professional services activities.
  2. Provide expertise and oversight of activities surrounding the operational efficiency of hardware and software involving client platforms using ITIL guidelines and industry-best­ practices.
  3. Analyze hardware and software performance and make configuration recommendations to optimize efficiencies.
  4. Document systems in accordance with Region 4 ESC standards and post for Region 4 ESC personnel to use as standard operating procedure documents.
  5. Identify, analyze, research, and recommend changes to infrastructure, procedures, and processes to enhance productivity, efficiencies, and security.
  6. Initiate, lead, and complete enterprise-wide projects in a timely and cost-efficient manner.
  7. Manage the department’s project deliverables while maintaining timelines, resources, and budget parameters.
  8. Work collaboratively with internal and external resources to further Region 4 ESC projects and activities.
  9. Provide support and guidance for enterprise systems including, but not limited to, Exchange, email security, OKTA, M365 administration, DNS, Active Directory, virtualization, backups, patching, physical servers, storage, content filtering, firewalls, and switches.
  10. Provide support and strategic improvements to Region 4’s disaster recovery program to include data replication technologies.
  11. Support and enhance Region 4’s server backup tasks and procedures.
  12. Provide support and guidance to the advancement of Region 4’s on-premise and cloud-based applications.
  13. Provide support and guidance to the advancement of AWS systems and environments.
  14. Continue to achieve certifications within job responsibility areas to maintain proficiency in job-related technologies.
