Job Goal: 

Provide support to internal and external customers by participating in blended and online resource/course development that supports Region 4’s core purpose and strategic goals.

 

Qualifications:

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Instructional Technology, Instructional Design, Artistic Design, or a similar major

 

Experience

  1. Two years of hands-on experience using software tools such as Articulate Storyline, Camtasia, and Adobe to create blended learning and eLearning courseware
  2. Experience in the areas of online presentation development, graphical layout, digital audio and video, and LMS management
  3. Experience developing educational courses for adults in a learning management system
  4. Experience with database software, Excel, and data analytics tools
  5. Proficiency in the Canvas Learning Management System, with hands-on experience in administration

Special Knowledge and Skills

  2. Solid knowledge of and skill in eLearning development consistent with adult learning theory
  3. Ability to apply knowledge of best practices in andragogy in the creation of online professional development
  4. Knowledge of industry-standard learning technologies (i.e. virtual learning platforms, LMS, graphics programs, rapid development tools)
  5. Ability to work effectively and collaborate within a multifunctional team in a fast-paced environment
  6. Ability to meet deliverables within strict deadlines
  7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  8. Broad-based knowledge of pedagogy, assessment, and instructional technology
  9. Broad-based knowledge of K-12 curriculum structures, instruction, and assessment

Major Responsibilities:

  1. Create internet-based resources and digital multimedia content.
  2. Work with education specialists to design, develop, and update asynchronous and synchronous online courses and face-to-face professional learning.
  3. Collaborate with education specialists and subject matter experts to assess learning needs and develop plans for online resource development.
  4. Employ project management skills throughout the course development process to ensure that course development and completion remain on schedule.
  5. Participate in special projects related to the development, testing, and deployment of learning resources.
  6. Develop training materials and end-user documentation.
  7. Provide LMS and course technical support for internal and external customers.
  8. Provide technical assistance and services as specified by any applicable state or federal grant that funds this position.
  9. Engage in professional development to maintain and advance skills in areas of responsibility.
  10. Provide the Department Director and Coordinator with recommendations and suggested updates/changes that would optimize adult learners’ experience by applying adult learning methodologies and principles.
  11. Conduct a quality assurance review after each build and/or troubleshooting experience, ensuring that all technology is operating efficiently and effectively.
