Job Goal: 

Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for educator development initiatives designed to strengthen teacher preparation, instructional practice, educator effectiveness, and talent retention across Region 4. Focused primarily on the Region 4 Inspire Texas Educator Preparation Program (EPP) and regional educator development priorities, this position leads the design, implementation, coordination, and continuous improvement of high-quality, research-based professional learning, coaching, mentoring, and talent development programs.

 

Qualifications

Education:

Certification:

  1. Valid Texas teacher, and principal or equivalent administrator certificate
  2. Valid Texas Teacher Evaluation and Support System (T-TESS) certification
  3. Valid Texas Principal Evaluation and Support System (T-PESS) certification

Experience:

  1. Five (5) years of exemplary classroom teaching experience
  2. Two (2) years of successful educational leadership at the district level and three (3) years at the campus level
  3. Experience in mentoring or coaching teachers and leaders to improve student outcomes

 Special Knowledge and Skills:

  1. Exceptional project management, relationship-building, communication, data analysis, and continuous improvement skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple initiatives and achieve measurable program milestones
  2. Demonstrated strategic, collaborative, and results-oriented leadership with expertise in educator development, instructional leadership, professional learning, coaching, and program implementation

Preferred:

  1. Extensive knowledge of House Bill 2 (HB 2), Texas Education Agency (TEA) requirements, educator standards, organizational priorities, and evidence-based practices
  2. Understanding of goals of key state and grant-funded initiatives, including Texas Reading Academies, Texas Math Academies, Teacher Incentive Allotment, and Texas Mentorship Training
  3. Experience collaborating with internal content experts, school system and campus leaders, teachers, external partners, and TEA representatives to translate research and policy into practical systems and professional learning that improve educator practice and student outcomes
  4. Experience implementing Teach Like a Champion at the campus and or district level
  5. Expertise in project management, educator development, instructional leadership, professional learning, coaching, and program implementation

Supervision/Personnel Management:

  1. In coordination with the cabinet member and department director, establish clear expectations, set goals, and provide regular feedback to promote accountability and performance improvement.
  2. In coordination with the cabinet member and department director, manage team workloads and project timelines to ensure priorities are met and deliverables are completed with high quality.
  3. Supervise and support assigned staff, including onboarding, training, and performance management.
  4. Foster a positive, collaborative, and high-performing workplace.
  5. Ensure compliance with Region 4 policies, procedures, and applicable state and federal guidelines.

Frequent use of standard office equipment; prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting; repetitive hand motions (keyboarding and use of mouse); occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 20 pounds); may work prolonged and irregular hours; occasional statewide travel; work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under pressure.
